Gut Testing Add-Ons
If you haven't checked out the Gut Testing page, please read through that first.
When doing gut testing sometimes there are additional "checks" that can be added on to a test being done. This list is just a sample of the most popular of what's available. If you want to check something reach out ([email protected]) to see if it's available.
If not sure where to start, usually a comprehensive stool test should be done first. Doing a candida / yeast add-on is recommended. If there has been any stomach pain or infection, checking for H pylori (in the stool) may be beneficial.
Tiny Health Gut Microbiome Test Candida Add-on
If doing the Tiny Health Gut Microbiome Test it is highly recommended to also do their candida add-on. Candida can easily be elevated in a dysbiotic gut and it often does not present with any symptoms. It is much cheaper (and easier for children) to do this add-on to see if candida is present than to do an organic acids (urine) test or a blood spot / serum blood test.
Available in Canada and the USA.
H. pylori Antigen (Stool) Test
This microorganism, which can be found on the stomach mucosa of infected people, causes very frequent and mostly silent infections that can produce gastritis, gastric ulcers and other serious pathologies. This FDA-cleared, non-invasive test directly measures the antigen in stool (not antibodies) and is used for diagnosing Helicobacter pylori infections. It is also used for monitoring therapeutic efficacy during and after treatment.
Order this test if there has been a diagnosed or suspect an H. pylori stomach infection or want to determine what infections may be influencing the gut.
Processing Time: 2-3 weeks once stool sample has arrived at lab.
