WELCOME!

“There are no wrong turnings. Only paths we had not known we were meant to walk.” ~ Guy Gavriel Kay

Nothing you expected or planned for prepared you for the life you're living now.  Nobody has asked if this is the life you wanted.  You weren't given a choice.

And as beautiful and joyful as The Special Needs Experience can be, it is earmarked with much stress, anxiety, and sleepless nights.

Special Needs Experience has been built for you - to make life just a little bit easier and to help you jump the next hurdle.  And ultimately to bring together the strongest people I know to help the strongest people I know!  If you look around you, it is very likely you'll have more in common with another mama in this group who may be halfway around the world than you do with family members and the people next door.

I have a vision of us changing the world together - helping make this world a safer and more accommodating and more accepting place for our kids and for families raising children with special needs.

There's lots of work to be done - and this is just one step. Here's what you can do ...

1 - If you haven't already, please subscribe to my email list.  I am hoping that it won't only be me but some of you sharing your thoughts and ideas with other parents.  Adding your name to this list ensures that announcements that are worth hearing about are shared - and by adding your location some local announcements will be able to be shared locally and not with everyone.

2 - Please join the Special Needs Experience Facebook Group. Here's the link: xxxxxxx This will not be "just another Facebook group" but an opportunity to learn about new therapies, nutrition tips, what others are doing, hear from researchers, and find other likeminded parents.  If you have something to share, then connect with me and let's schedule it!

3 - If you are someone who has a program, product, service, or something parents of children with special needs may find useful or helpful, then consider advertising on this site.  The more we share here then less hunting and researching we need to do late at night!   Contact me for more details.

4 - If you have ideas on how to make the Special Needs Experience better then let me know!  I want us all to be AWESOME!

5 - Please never feel like you are on your journey alone.  If you are struggling or not sure where you can get help for your child or for yourself, then we are definitely here to help one another.   If you are someone more experienced and are at a place where you think you could nuture and support a family new on their journey, then I want to talk with you.  As you help other families I have a way of helping you.

6- If you are a family who could use some extra income, then I'm interested in building a side business with people who have a few hours a week for this.  I envision that together we can not only help each other, but also help many other families and people not fortunate enough to be part of this special needs community.

Looking forward to meeting and interacting with you!

Lots of love and stuff!

- Lisa xo
